The Manitouwadge Family Health Team offers school-age vaccines in partnership with the Thunder Bay District Health Unit.
Thunder Bay District Health Unit no longer offers these vaccines to be administered at the schools. Parents are responsible for booking their child’s vaccines with the Manitouwadge Family Health Team between 4-6 years of age.
Should a parent forget to schedule this appointment, the Thunder Bay District Health Unit will provide the Manitouwadge Family Health Team with a list of children, enrolled in school, that have not received their school age vaccines.
The publicly funded vaccines received from 4-6 years of age are:
- Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella
- Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, polio
Parents must bring their child’s yellow immunization card for these vaccines to be documented for their records. The Manitouwadge Family Health Team will report the vaccine administration to the Thunder Bay District Health Unit.
Appointments typically range from 10-20 minutes in length.
